ABOUT ERIN THELEN
Music Educator // Songwriter // Studio Musician // Performer.
Based in Austin, Texas, Erin Thelen is an experienced music educator, performer and studio musician. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Choral Music Education from the University of North Texas in 2014. Thelen has been teaching professionally since 2012 and teaches people of all ages and experience levels.
In addition to private instruction, Thelen has experience teaching music in public schools. From 2016 to 2018, she was the Assistant Choir Director at Henry Middle School in Cedar Park, TX.
Currently, Thelen is living in Austin, TX with her husband Ethan, daughter Nora, dog and chickens. Thelen teaches privately, performs, and records as a studio musician. She also leads an early education music class called Toddler Tunes.
Thelen teaches in-person and (primarily) virtually via Zoom. Local and non-local applicants are encouraged to reach out!

VOICE LESSONS
Beginner to Advanced
Students will gain an understanding of their vocal instrument and how to properly sing with proper technique. Through dynamic, interactive lessons, students will grow in confidence and skill, which will enhance their overall musical experience. Students can customize their lessons to focus on their musical goals. A typical lesson will include: vocal development, ear training, music theory, performance/stage coaching and repertoire work.
GUITAR LESSONS
Beginner to Intermediate
Thelen's students learn how to play guitar in a fun, professional, and energetic environment. Whether you're new to the instrument, or you know your basics and have specific songs you want to learn, lessons are tailored to students' individual needs and goals.
PIANO LESSONS
Beginner to Intermediate
Piano is one of the best instruments for beginner musicians. Thelen guides her students to read sheet music and translate to the piano. Each lesson is shaped around the needs and musical desires of each student. With the tools of piano books, sheet music, games and more, students build their skills as pianists and as overall musicians.
